We are looking for someone who is confident, energetic, warm and loving, enthusiastic and proactive. We are comfortable giving our nanny lots of autonomy but are hands-on parents who like to work as a team, discussing and agreeing things in advance and then letting someone crack on. We lead busy lives and are not interested in micro-managing. Duties include helping with the busy morning period and getting kids up and out of the house, some drop offs at school (walking distance) (if we have early meetings/calls), looking after our son (currently 10 months, will be just over 1 when starting) during the day, going to classes/drop-ins, hosting playdates and then collecting children from school/clubs and taking them to after school activities/classes (as appropriate/realistic with 3 kids and juggling the timetable!). Cooking healthy and delicious meals for the children, batch cooking for the freezer, overseeing homework/reading, playing with the children and/or taking them out (we are a family that believes in exercise and fresh air where possible).
We have a cleaner who comes twice a week but would like the nanny to assist with keeping children's rooms clean and tidy, kids laundry and generally running the house. Taking delivery of online food deliveries, occasional shopping for the household or the children and other ad hoc errands such as buying birthday presents for children's friends.... the list goes on. A usual day is along the lines of the above. Cultural fit will be key - we are a busy, fun-loving and quite noisy family. We place a lot of emphasis on good manners and gentle (but firm) discipline. The children are lively, outgoing and well adjusted - they have lots of friends, come from a large (and close knit) extended family on both sides and are pretty resilient.
We are looking for someone who is extremely trustworthy, mature in approach, flexible and who will just
roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. We have a house in Wiltshire and spend part/most of the holidays there. We would like to find someone
who would be willing to spend c. half of each school holidays with us there. This would involve being live-in during the week (Own bedroom and own bathroom plus playroom used as your 'lounge' during the evenings) and we would cover costs of travel down on a Monday morning and home again on a Friday afternoon. Someone who enjoys the outdoors/nature would work well! A driver would be the best please, not so much for London unless as a back up drive when it pours with rain - but mostly for the countryside location to allow you and the children to make the most of the area.
